Gordon H. Crain, 86, of Dardanelle died Saturday, April 21, 2012, at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle.

He was born April 24, 1926, in Cardon Bottom to the late Jack Henderson "Hence" Crain Sr. and Edna Yates Crain. He was a farmer and cattle rancher. He and his twin brother Jack served in the Navy during WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lena Mae Rook; brother-in-law, P.K. Rook; sister-in-law, Frances Crain; and his twin brother, Jack H. Crain Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Virginia Bata Crain; one son, Tim Crain and wife Denise of Dardanelle; daughter, Brenda Snider and husband Wiley of Waytt, Mo.; grandchildren, Amber and John Williams of Henderson, Ky., Tishaka "Tish" Snider of Charleston, Mo.; Dennis Snider of Waytt, Mo., Matthew Crain of Dardanelle, Kelsy Crain of Dallas, Texas, Amber Yeargen and Kristen and Josh Crites, all of Centerville; great-grandchildren, Samantha Crain, Ryan and Aubrie Williams, Dawson and Drew Snider, Tristen, Ethean, Evan and Jashlyn Crites and Jaycie Welsh; nieces, Carol McCain of Dallas, Texas, and Peggy Distel of Austin, Texas; and several other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle with Josh Crites officiating.

Special "Thanks" to Dr. Matt Self of River Valley Medical Center and all the nurses; the Dardanelle Nursing Rehab staff for taking care of Gordon Crain; Bill Christy and the "Coffee Drinkers" from Ever-So-Fast; and Benny Robinson for cutting his hair.
