HYANNIS — Michael Gregory Ianniello passed away peacefully at the age of 25 on 4/20/12. Born in Kingston, NY, and raised in Atlanta, GA, until age of 8, when he moved with his mother to Cape Cod.

Michael was an amazing soul who brought the joy of living into everyday life. Growing up in Hyannis he excelled in a number of activities; Michael competed in wrestling and played football for Barnstable High. Michael loved music and played violin, guitars, piano and drums; a true prodigy. Additionally, he sang and performed in many productions at Barnstable High School.

His love of music started early while still in Atlanta singing doo wop songs with his Granny and Grampa. Upon moving to Cape Cod and enrolling in the Barnstable School system he took up violin. He excelled quickly but, was never content with just violin; transcribing everything he learned on violin to piano, then guitar and even taught himself how to play drums.

Michael was a member of the Barnstable High School Jazz band on guitar and achieved the level Concert Master 1st Violinist in the Barnstable High School Orchestra and being awarded the Excellence in Music Award his senior year from the National School Orchestra Association. Everywhere Michael has worked his charismatic personality shined through. Everyone who knew him loved him.

Michael had several band situations from metal to melodic to solo on Cape Cod; most notably the band Old Dog Moon. Two years ago he was summoned back to his roots in Georgia where his violin and guitar talents landed him an opportunity backing a rising country performer on the same bill with many national acts. Michael will be remembered by all as a kind, cheerful and generous soul who will be sorely missed.

He leaves behind his mother Andrea Ianniello of Hyannis, MA, His father and step-mother Gregory and Robin Gainor of Port Orange, FLA, sisters Skyler, also of Port Orange, Kerry and Moria Gainor both of Esopus, NY, brother Devin and his wife Dena Gainor of Ormond Beach, Fla., also two nephews. grandmother Anne B. Dalton and the late David Dalton of Hyannis, MA, grandfather and step-grandmother Andrew and Brenda Ianniello of Punta Gorda, Fla., along with a slew of aunts, uncles, cousins.
