Isaac Standlee, an old, respected and well-to-do farmer of Goose Lake Valley died last Sunday morning of pneumonia. He died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Dan Morris, after several weeks illness.
"Uncle Ike" as he was familiarly known, was about 72 years of age at the time of his death, and was one of the first settlers in Goose Lake valley. He was a kind hearted, generous old man, and was always willing to assist a friend.
The funeral took place at Davis Creek, and the services were conducted by Rev. Crooks of Alturas. He leaves two nieces at Davis Creek, and many friends to mourn his loss.
