MRS. W.H. WHITTEN
Mrs. W.H. Whitten, 76, 413 Miller Street, died last night in a local hospital after an illness of several months.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Collier-Butler Chapel, the Rev. T.R. Tadlock and the Rev. Clarence L. Best officiating.
Burial will be in Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler directing.
Active pallbearers will be Cecil Gray, Oliver Gray, O.K. Gibbs, John Semrick, Norman Elrod and Curtis Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. C.R.D. Burns, Dr. William Simpson and all personal friends.
The body will remain at Collier-Butler Chapel through the hour of service.
Surviving are her husband, W.H. Whitten; two sons, I.J. Clay, Port Neches, Tex., and A.J. Whitten, Meridian, Miss; four daughters, Mrs. Gordon Ashley, Mrs. I.H. Atkins, Gadsden, Mrs. T.C. Drummond, Rapid City, S.D., Mrs. Clyde R. Ferguson, Birmingham; a sister, Mrs. Fred B. Green, Beaumont, Tex.; a brother, Price Vasser, Rome Ga.; 13 grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was a native of Edwardsville and a resident of Gadsden for the past 43 years. She was a Methodist.
