GEORGE W. CARTWRIGHT

Died at his home at Mines, Williamsburg, R. D. No. 2, last night at 11:45 o'clock, death being attributed to a complication of ailments following a long illness. He was a son of James and Margaret (Gunnett) Cartwright and was born at Rebecca Furnace May 20, 1863.

He was twice married, the first union being with Miss Ella Sharon and the second union with Mrs. Clara Rhodes on June 21, 1905. Both are deceased.

Surviving are these children: Mrs. Mary Archie of Lewistown, Miss Hazel Cartwright, at home, Chester of Hollidaysburg, R. D. No. 2, Mrs. Wilda Kauffman of Martinsburg, Mrs. Freda Hetrick of Mount Union and Pershing Cartwright of Williamsburg; one step-son, Denver Rhodes of Pittsburgh; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grand-children and one sister, Mrs. Rebecca Black of Altoona.

Mr. Cartwright was educated in the Huston township schools, was a member of the Mines Methodist Church and was employed by the Woodbury Clay Company until eight years ago when he suffered a stroke of apoplexy, being incapacitated ever since.

Friends will be received at the home after 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon.

CARTWRIGHT – Funeral services for George Washington Cartwright will be conducted Sunday afternoon, the cortege leaving at the home at Mines at 2 o'clock for the Mines Methodist Church, in charge of the pastor Rev. J. W. McMorris, assisted by Rev. Robert R. Seyda. Interment in the Royer Cemetery. Friends will be received at the home after 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon.
Pennsylvania death certificate. They married June 21, 1905.
