Larry Kent Sullivan, 55 of Tuscumbia, Missouri passed away Monday morning April 4, 2011 at the Miller County Nursing Home in Tuscumbia, Missouri. On August 5, 1955 he was born in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Dail and Genevieve (Slone) Sullivan.
Survivors include: brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Lori Sullivan of Camdenton; daughter, Jessica Chatten of Eldon; niece, Tiffany Brown of Lake Ozark; nephew, Timothy Sullivan of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry was a lifetime member of the Tuscumbia Christian Church. Larry was a 1974 graduate of Tuscumbia High School and was awarded All State Honorable Mention for Basketball. He was elected Mayor of Tuscumbia in 1980. He was a founding member and chairman of the board of the Tuscumbia Fire Department; current chairman of the board for the Miller County Health Department; Treasurer of the Masonic Lodge #410 of Iberia, Missouri; and a thirty year member of the Lion's Club. He was also employed with Prather Insurance Agents, representing MFA Insurance for twenty-six years. He was elected Miller County Collector in 2004, seventy years after his grandfather, Elmer Slone held the same office. He served as Miller County Collector from 2004 to 2008 retiring due to his health issues.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 6, 2011 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Tuscumbia Christian Church with a Masonic Service to be held at 7:30 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday April 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Tuscumbia Christian Church with Rev. Larry Schraer & Rev. Bill Vernon officiating. Interment will follow at the Tuscumbia Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials are suggested to the Tuscumbia Christian Church Building Fund
