John Louis Bargsley was born April 8, 1863, in Hood County, Texas to John Bargsley and Sarah Lucretia Arrington. John stood 6ft. 5in. tall, had blue eyes, light brown hair and a light complexion. He was married to Georgia Annie Boales, in about 1888. They had eight children, two of which were twins. John did carpenter work and was also a cowboy in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. John enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a REGULAR RANGER serving three years under Captains Jones and Sieker. He enlisted as a REGULAR RANGER from September 28, 1920 until February 15, 1921. He was then discharged. He enlisted as a RAILROAD RANGER August 19, 1922 until October 17, 1922, in Company A. He then resigned. In 1930, he was a farmer living in Frio County, Texas. John Louis Bargsley died May 29, 1937 in Uvalde County, Texas. He was buried in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, in San Fernando Cemetery #3.
