Betty Metcalf "Nana" Greer, 85, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Elizabeth House following a brief illness. Born in Rutherford County, NC, she was a daughter of the late P.A. and Sally Metcalf. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Greer; daughter, Cathy Stewart; sisters, Margaret Maxwell, Sarah Garrison, Blanche Brookshire and Alice Metcalf; brothers, Bob Metcalf, Charles Metcalf, John Metcalf and nephew, Edward Metcalf.
Betty was of the Baptist faith and had worked as a retail clerk for many years with both Community Cash grocery store and Roses department store before retiring in 1983. She enjoyed being outside and working in the yard. She loved crocheting and completing crossword puzzles. Betty was a great cook and enjoyed preparing food for others. She had a great fondness for children, especially her grandson.
Betty is survived by her grandson, Chris Moore and her best friend, Kristie Moore.
