"Former Black Ash Man Passed Away Yesterday - John Robb, aged 72, died at 1:10 am yesterday at the Warren State hospital. He had been seriously ill since last April. The deceased was born in Corry, December 14, 1968 (sic) [1869], a son of Robert and Catherine Robb. He was a successful farmer in Troy and Randolph townships for many years and in 1918 went to Vandergrift, where he worked in the mills for a number of years. Mr Robb was twice married, his first wife passing away in 1920 and the second in 1935. He leaves the following children: Elias and Garwood Robb of Vandergrift, Robert and Mrs Clyde Armbarger of RD Guys Mills. There are 18 grandchildren, and one-great grandchild and a brother, Edward Robb of Fauncetown. A sister, Mrs Hugh Armstrong, died several years ago. Services will be conducted from the W L Arnold funeral home in Townville at 2 pm Thursday, with interment in the Black Ash cemetery."(Titusville Herald, July 16, 1941, p.8)
