Luella Della Johnson, age 90, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Birchview Memory Care in Sedro-Woolley, with her family at her side.

She was born March 14, 1921 in Center, Nebraska, to William and Anna (Muth) Nieshe. Luella grew up in Nebraska and was married to George Jaakola, residing in Minnesota until coming to Skagit County in 1945.

On October 3, 1953, she was married to Eldon Johnson and they resided in Marblemount and Birdsview until his passing in 2006. For the past 5 years, Luella has resided in Sedro-Woolley.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, collecting dolls, but most of all raising and taking care of her family.

Luella was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Marblemount and the First Baptist Church in Hamilton.

Luella is survived by five daughters: Barbara Gillespie, of Sedro-Woolley, Joan (Jim) Flowers, of Oak Harbor, Esther (Ernie) Blankinship, of Port Angeles, Jeanette (Larry) Hawk and Lynette Johnson, both of Sedro-Woolley; two sons: Randy and Calvin Johnson, both of Birdsview; brothers, Butch, Adolph and Gene Nieshe, all of Birdsview, George Nieshe, of Sedro-Woolley, Bill Nieshe, of Colville; and a sister, Delphia Dickinson, of Forks; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldon; two sons, Eugene and Jerry; five brothers, Lawrence, Carl, Fred, Lori, and Ray; and a sister, Merceda.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 11:00AM at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley, with interment to follow at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. Visitation is available on Monday and Tuesday from 9AM to 5PM and Tuesday from 7PM to 8PM at Lemley Chapel.
