Doris Eileene Haan, the daughter of Joseph O. Brassfield and Octavia (Constant) Brassfield, was born June 25, 1912 in Galt, Missouri. Doris was united in marriage to William M. Haan, who preceded her in death in 1989. She made her home in Spirit Lake for 44 years. She attended the First Presbyterian Church of Spirit Lake, was a church elder, taught Sunday School for many years and was active in the United Presbyterian Women. She was active in the Rebekah Lodge and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Doris moved to Worthington, MN in 1992.

Doris passed away at the Worthington Regional Hospital on Jan. 7, 2004 at ninety-one years of age.

She is survived by her three daughters: Marlene Lou and her husband Emory Goertz of Farmington, NM; Normajean and her husband Erwin Gerdes of Fulda, MN; Barbara Joann and her husband Michael Combs of Des Moines, IA; three grandsons, one granddaughter; five great grandsons, five great granddaughters; sister, Ellen Hodges; brother, John Brassfield; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Preceding her in death were one sister and two brothers.
