Edwin W. Estes
Edwin W. Estes, 82, of 924 Anderson terrace, a Topeka insurance agent more than 20 years, and owner and operator of the Farmers Insurance group before selling the business in 1941, died Monday at a local hospital.
He was born at Cottonwood falls, and had been a Topeka resident since 1907.
Mr. estes was a member of the Methodist church and of Orient lodge No. 51, AF & AM.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Spicie Estes of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Van Winkle of Wichita; two sons, Keith Estes of 336 Broadmoor and Deward H. Estes of 610 Randolph; five grandsons; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Mrs. W. B. Hilton of Cottonwood Falls, Mrs. Dell Rose of San Leandro, Calif., and Mrs. C.T. West of Hartford, and 10 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wall-Diffenderfer chapel; burial will be in the Mount Hope cemetery.
