Mrs. Marie C. Francois

Mrs. Marie C. Francois, 100, formerly of 615 S. Baird St,, died Christmas Day in a local nursing home. She was born in Chilton, WI on April 27, 1886 to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Rausch. Marie married John Francois in Green Bay; he preceded her in death on February 24, 1952.
Mrs. Francois was a member of St. Elizabeth Altar Society, the Golden Age Club and St. Mary of the Angels Church. She was a former member of the Navy Mothers Club.
Marie enjoyed playing cards all of her life up to the age of 96. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends and looked forward to their visits.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Norbert and Bernadine Francois, Wesley (Whitey) and Marion Francois; two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Kathleen) Jones and Beverly Francois, all of Green Bay; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Earl Jones; one great-grandchild, Jay Stevens; four sisters and one brother.
Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4 to 9 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Saturday. Prayer service 7:30 p.m. this evening by the parish and St. Elizabeth Altar Society. Funeral 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Angels Church, with the Rev. Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Burial in Allouez Cemetery.
