Died at 9:05 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 1985, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 77, a native of McComb, Miss., and resident of Zachary. He was a retired Allied Chemical employee, with 34 years service.
Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, 4 to 9 p.m. Friday. Visiting at First Baptist Church, Zachary, 8 a.m. to religious services at 10 a.m. Saturday, conducted by Dr. Wayne Barnes. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Survived by wife, Mrs. Marganie W. Jones, Zachary; a daughter, Lorena J. Long, Baton Rouge; two sons, Charles W. Jones, Tallman, N.Y., and James P. Jones, Baton Rouge; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Michael Amaker and the staff of Lane Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Zachary, and Odd Fellows.
