Ronald Leon Luttrell was born July 7, 1943 in the family home in Amsterdam, Missouri to Doris and Jake Luttrell. He left us from his home on April 17, 2012. Ron spent his last 65 years living in Bakersfield. He attended local schools and graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 1961. Ron joined the Air Force in 1962 serving as a Jet Engine Mechanic in Vietnam, Guam and Alaska until 1965. Ron had three careers-the Kern County Fire Department, Luttrell's Custom Welding and finally retiring from Luttrell's Home Inspections. Ron was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer and had innumerable joyful stories of the "quiet" of the hunt, the thrill of the "bite" and the frustration of the golf course His childhood memories of his time spent in Missouri with family were some he cherished to the very end. He considered himself "a Missouri farm boy" .Ron met the love of his life and soulmate Janet in 1988 and his life with her was the most treasured golden part of his time here on earth. Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Doris. He is survived by his wife Janet Seinturier, his father Jake, brother Phil(wife-Wanda), daughter and son-in-law Lori and Aaron Byrd, eight grandchildren: Nicholas(wife Allison), Matthew(wife Abbey), Hannah, Haylee, Joshua, Noelle, Jacob and Brooke-Lyn and three great-grandchildren: Monae, Aiden and Emberlyn Byrd and his second child, and canine companion, Josh. Ron will be remembered for his sense of humor, honesty and openness, his fierce sense of loyalty to family and friends and his infectious love for life. The family wishes to thank Drs. Chowdhury, Hansa, Steve Helper and Tommy Lee, the nursing staff 5th floor San Joaquin Hospital especially Denise and Billy Bob, and Optimal Hospice personnel Anhawake, Alma, Cid and Marian. Services will be held, Monday, April 23rd, at 10:00am at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local Relay For Life . www.bakersfield.com/obits
