Nellie Cassiday
Mrs. Nellie V. Cassiday, 79, of
Skeels, died Thursday, May 22, in
the Gladwin Hospital.
Born in Ithaca on Aug. 2, 1889,
she came to Gladwin County at
an early age. She was a member
of the Skeels Baptist Church.
The former Nellie Gillmore, she
was married to Maver Cassiday
on Nov. 9, 1909, in Cadillac. He
preceded her in death in June
1966.
Surviving are two daughters,
Mrs. Evelyn Altoft, of Hastings,
and Mrs. Edith Greaves, of Gladwin;
two sons, Clinton of California,
and Virgil, of Midland; 20
grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday at
2 p. m. at the Skeels Baptist
Church. The Rev. Carl Briggs officiated
and burial was in the
Skeels Cemetery. Arrangements
were in charge of the Miner Funeral
