H.R Christiansen Passes Away WArly Today In The Hospital

Hartvick Rucolph Christiansen, 65, who for years did general contracting work in this area, passed away early today in a local hospital. Survivors include his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Helga Freeburg, Mrs,. William Keene and Mrs Norman Boucher, all of Havre; three sons, Lief, Carl and Harold, all of Havre; and fourteen grandchildren and on (great) grandchild.
Alos left to mourn his passing are five brothers, Elmer of Havre, Carl of Granite Falls, Minn., and Paul and Haakon of Sloane, Iowa, and Alfred of Clarkfield, Minn.; and a sister, Mrs. Peter Laurentzen (Lorntson) of Sacred Heart, Minn.

Mr. Christainsen was vborn in Nomdalen county Norway, Feb. 2, 1879, and grew to manhood there, marrying Louise Amelia Dons in 1903. They came to the United States in 1906 and settled near Sloane, Iowa, where the couple farmed. They moved to Cottonwood, Minn., in 1909 and came to Havre in 1912. The Christiansens hemesteaded 28 miles north of the city and moved into town in 1918 when Mr. Christiansen took up Contracting.

Additional note: He left two sisters in Norway, Laura, Mrs. Nils Kasperson, and Kristine, Mrs. Karl Hansen. One sister in Sweden,Anna, Mrs Anders Forsberg. A sister Elsie, Mrs Peter Lorntson in Indianapolis, Ind. The sister in Sacred Heart, Minn. is Constance, Mrs. Pedar Lorntson. The brother listed as Carl of Granite Falls, Minn. was actually named Oscar.
