Mereda Bell "Beet" Stucker, 92 of Hanover, died Wednesday July 14, 1999, at Hanover Nursing Center.
She was born Dec. 31, 1906, in Clark County, the daughter of John and Charity Johnson Hall. She was a homemaker and a former cook for the old Saluda School. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Jessie Henley of Hanover and Jane Korte of Jeffersonville; two sons, Lee Stucker of Hanover, and Bill Stucker of Largo, Fla.: 14 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forest Lewis "Mike" Stucker, on June 12, 1974: one daughter, Louise Korte: four sisters. Gladys Craig, Ella Davidson, Mabel Fulp, and Elsie Dean, two brothers, Tom and Harley Hall: and one grandchild.
Services will be at 1:30 PM Saturday at Vail-Holt Funeral Home Hanover Chapel, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM Friday and after 11 AM Saturday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church or the Crusade for Children.
