Frank E. Heitz, 56, veteran of World War I, farmer and resident of Andrews for some time, died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at the Billings Veterans' hospital at Indianapolis where he had been a patient five weeks. He had been in failing health for three years.
Mr. Heitz was born 25 May 1893 in Lancaster township, Huntington county, to Henry and Mary Bohleber Heitz. His marriage was to Vera Poe, 20 February 1919.
Mr. Heitz was a soldier in World War I with Company C, 159th Regiment, Indiana Volunteer Infantry. He was a member of the Andrews Church of the Brethren. The family resided on a farm in Wabash county before coming to Andrews.
Surviving are the widow and two daughters, Mrs. Glenn Mulligan, this city, and Miss Melba Jean Heitz, Andrews; two grandchildren, Kathleen and Steven Mulligan and five brothers, William, George, Michael, Charles and Otto, all of Huntington county.
The body was brought to the Bailey funeral home where friends may call and where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. J. A. Snell, South Whitley, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Frank Mulligan, this city.
Burial will be at Lancaster.
