Obituary:

Mrs. Mattie Hennington Davis, age 79 years, passed away at Shreveport, Louisiana, Saturday, August 29, 1959, after a lingering illness. Mattie was born and reared in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. She was a descendant of the founders of the Hennington Camp Meeting. She was married twice, her first husband being the late Theodore Ramsey. They had one son, Hennington Ramsey of Bossier City , Louisiana, and a foster daughter, Mrs. Loraine Ramsey Jaqmes of Crowley, Louisiana. Her second husband was the late Vollie Davis.

Funeral services were held at Hartmans Funeral Chapel on Sunday Afternoon at 3:30pm with Rev, Mark Lytle of Columbia, Miss. officiating, assisted by the Methodist pastor from Bossier City.

Survivors are her son and daughter, a number of nieces and nephews, grandchildren and other relatives.

Pall Bearers were her nephews: Claudo H. Mills of Kansas City; J.C. Ramsey of Greenville; Clifton Ramsey of Vicksburg; Charles R. Hennington of Shreveport, Louisiana; Vernon Burt and Henry Hardy Didlake of Crystal Springs.

Among the out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were: Mrs. R. B. Carpenter, Jr. of Lexington, MO; Mrs. A.G. Hammet, Sr. of Shreveport, Louisiana; Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Hennington of Shreveport; Rev. and Mrs. Kenneth Dickson of Dallas, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. F.C. Webb and children of Delta , Louisiana; Mrs. Beulah Kennedy of Vicksburg; Mrs., Neva McClamroth of Jackson, Mississippi; Mr. and Mrs. Parker of Bossier City, Louisiana; Mr. and Mrs. Clark Ramsey of Edwards; and Mr. and Mrs. Loren Breland of Jackson, Mississippi.
