A Will Case - The contest over the motion to probate the will of Marquis Helm, ended yesterday, so far as the County Court is concerned in admitting it to record. The grounds of the contest grew from the fact that most of the property had been willed to J. K. and Doc Helm, when other heirs of equal expectations had been left comparatively out in the cold. They claimed that the old gentleman had been unduly influenced in the bequests, and hence the suit. The testimony elicited showed a bad state of affairs existing in the Helm family for years. Quarrels, reaching almost to blows, criminations and recriminations have been the order of the day, and those skeletons in the closet were all trotted out during the trial to the delectation of the spectators. Squire Carson, owing to the inability of Judge Brown to sit by reason of his relationship to one of the contestants, was agreed on as Judge, and he gave the case his closest attention. Hill & Alcorn represented the Helm's, and Welch & Saufley, and Judge J. M. Philips, the contestants. The case will go to the Circuit Court.
