James Cristman a well known citizen of the county died at the Emergency Hospital last Thursday. Deceased was born in the town of Columbia, April 17, 1844 and there lived until he retired from active farming about 16 years ago. He had since made his home with his only child, Hon. Franklin W. Cristman of Herkimer. His late wife, Catherine Steele Cristman to whom he was united in marriage, Sept. 18, 1867 preceded him to the beyond, September 1, 1900.
Besides his son there survive a brother and two sisters, namely, George H. Cristman of Columbia, Mrs. Newell Pierson of Fulton and Mrs. Floyd Haggerty of Columbia and one grandchild, Marx Christman.
The funeral services were held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Cristman, 222 Prospect street Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Oak Hill cemetery.
