MRS. JOHN MADISON SUCCUMBS AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS

Rena Elizabeth Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Allen, was born in Genesee county, July 8, 1879, and departed this life July 4th, 1936, at the age of 56 years, 11 months and 26 days.

When eight years of age, her parents came to Clare county and were pioneers settlers in Grant township, where she spent her entire life, excepting at rare intervals.

At the age of 18 years she was united in marriage to John H. Madison. To this union seven children were born, one child, Clye, preceded her in death 30 years ago.

She leaves to mourn their loss besides a loving husband, three sons, and three daughters, Albert H., of this locality, Glenn and Elmer, of Los Angeles, Ca., Mrs. Roy Powers of Detroit, Mrs. Delbert Fish and Mrs. Norman Wilde, of Ann Arbor, also nine grandchildren and three brothers, Elmer Allen, of Marion, Roy of Farwell, and Ray, of this community; besides a host of relatives and friends.

She was a kind and loving mother, a good neighbor, always giving a helping hand to anyone who needed her.

She gave her heart to the Lord several years ago and was a patient sufferer during her lingering illness of a complication of diseases.

Funeral services were held at the Church of God at Farwell Monday, Rev. Mary House officiating and interment made in Cherry Grove cemetery.
