Source citation . Please do not copy or steal. My father was born in Chicago IL. Son of Delfio and Jacqueline Filippi. US Army Veteran, brother of Samuel, Joseph, Joanne, Ramona, Charlene, and Jacqueline. Religion, Roman Catholic. He attended Lane Technical High School. Joined the Army became a Sergeant, married in 1960 to Madonna Thompson had 3 children Roxanne, Dennis Jr., Shelly Filippi.
In 1967 he divorced and remarried, Laura Bautista had 1 child Kimberly Filippi. In 1977 He divorced and also fathered a son Anthony Mardirosian. He worked for the City of Chicago for many years achieving a Coordinator's position. He attended Loop Community College to achieve an associates degree. Receiving his pilot's license, started flying airplanes he so enjoyed. Worked in the Cook County Sheriffs Dept. as a Cook County Sheriff.
In 1988 married Joanne Mionskowski Maenza and became a stepfather to Mary Maenza.
He enjoyed cooking and reading, flying air planes, nature shows, hunting, traveling, fine dining, loved art and pets, he was a collector of books, guns, coins. He was a Freemason and a Shriner. He also volunteered for the Cancer Centers for children on holidays. He enjoyed music and participating in parades. Was a member of the Lakeview Betterment Club in Chicago, IL. for many years. Upon his Retirement, he then moved with his wife to Mission Texas, to join him was his step daughter Mary Maenza. Made many friends and also worked for the State of Texas. He was a loving grandfather to Jerry, Alex, Jonathon, Joshua Filippi, Michael McCoy, Anthony Mardirosian Jr, Angela Filippi, Jacob Filippi. He had many nephews and nieces. He is now safe in the arms of Jesus and has earned his wings. He is missed by many. We love you father, your memory will be respected and remembered.
