Roy Sheets dies at 84; last rites slated Saturday (header)
Roy Sheets of Frankfort rt. 2 died at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday in the Bluffton Clinic, in Bluffton. He was 84, and had been ill for a week.
Mr. Sheets was a retired farmer - who had farmed the same homestead for 57 years. He lived all his life in Clinton County. He was born here in October of 1882 to Sanford and Alice Beard Sheets.
His wife, the former Goldie Armstrong, whom he wed in December, 1909, passed away in 1955.
Mr. Sheets was a member of the Hopewell Methodist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Sheets had no children, but they raised three boys in their home, all of who survive them. They are: Keith Armstrong of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Leo Armstrong of Frankfort rt. 5 and Ralph Armstrong of Cleveland, O. He is also survived by three sisters; Mrs.
Blanche Paris of Frankfort rt. 2, Mrs. Faye Kingery of Frankfort rt. 2 and Mrs. Leona Gray of Frankfort rt. 1; two brothers; Russell Sheets of Frankfort rt. 2 and Claude L. Sheets of Frankfort, and several nephews and nieces.
Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Goodwin Funeral Home, Rev William Meile officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday."
