Services for Ruth M. (Jo) Craig will be 2:00PM Thursday, April 19, at Franklin United Methodist Church in Norman, with interment to follow at Blackburn Cemetery. Mrs. Craig died at home April 16, 2012. She was born September 29, 1930 to William and Harriet Portus in Los Angeles, CA. Jo grew up during The Great Depression and suffered the loss of her mother at the young age of nine. She graduated from Los Angeles Polytechnic High School. She went on to marry the love of her life Curtis D. Craig in Redmond, WA on April 18, 1953. Jo was fortunate enough to live in many places all over the US with her family before settling in Oklahoma City in the Fall of 1977. She was an active member of the 3-E's Home Extension Group, Franklin United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Craig is preceded in death by her parents William and Harriet Portus; step-mother Emma Portus; infant son James (Jimmy) Craig; brother Robert Portus; sisters Maggie Wigren and Patsy Yackley. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Curtis D. Craig; children Karen Smith-Grant and husband Mike, Brian Craig; brother Mike Portus of Portland, OR; sister Kathy Portus of Wash. D.C.; brother-in-law Henry Craig and wife Betty; and her pride and joy, grandchildren Kelli Smith and Kirk Smith; many loved cousins as well as many nieces and nephews all loved by their Aunt Jo.
