AYNOR - Services for Edward Pickens Johnson, 89, of Hwy. 319, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Aynor United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will be at the home of Lonnie and Edna Martin and will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 tonight. Memorials may be sent to Aynor United Methodist Church, 1007 Elm St., Aynor 29511.
Mr. Johnson, husband of the late Beatrice Gibson Johnson, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999 at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence following an illness. Born in Aynor, he was a son of the late William Frank and Madge Pittman Johnson. He was a member of Aynor United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #368 AFM in Murrells Inlet and of the American Legion.
Surviving are his son, Harold Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Jonelle Harrelson of Florence; brother, Clement Johnson of Virginia Beach, Va.; sisters, Edna Martin of Aynor, Kathleen Freeze of China Grove, N.C.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
