Delpha M. Sloan, 107, of Bloomfield, died April 17, 2012, at the Bloomfield Care Center.

She was born Feb. 26, 1905, in Davis County to Clinton Dewitt and Emma Etta Ritz Archer. She married Ernest Sloan March 3, 1929, in Keokuk. He preceded her in death in 1979.
Delpha was a farm wife and a teacher. She was a member of the Pulaski United Methodist Church and the Mission Circle.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol(Larry)Hershey of Bloomfield and Doris Jackson of Kouts, Ind.; a son, William(Sandra)Sloan of Grundy Center; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Pearl McEldowney and one in infancy; and eight brothers, Ralph, Gene, Vern, Max, Wade, Clarence, Doy "Pete" and Harley "Bud" Archer.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield; with Rev. Jack Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the Pulaski Cemetery in Pulaski. Visitation will begin at 9 am Thursday with the family present from 6-8 pm. A memorial has been established to Hospice of Central Iowa.
