Dale Elmer "Skeeter" Elwell, 75, of La Monte, passed away Monday, August 17, 2009, at Four Seasons Living Center. He was born August 25, 1933, in La Monte, a son of Elmer Franklin and Virgie Simmons Elwell. On July 28, 1951, in Warsaw, he married JoAnn Snow, who survives of the home. Mr. Elwell was a member of La Monte United Methodist Church. He was an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed watching the Cardinals and the Chiefs. In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, William Elwell, and his wife, Kathy, of La Monte, and James Elwell, and his wife, Julie, of Overland Park, KS; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and a sister, Catherine Elwell Martin, and her husband, Al, of Cape Coral, FL. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at La Monte United Methodist Church, with Pastor Donna Trollinger officiating. Burial will be in La Monte Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, or La Monte United Methodist Church. Condolences may be offered at www.heckartfuneralhome.com.
