Herkimer - Albert E. Richards, 66, Spanish War veteran and former resident of Herkimer, died Wednesday at his home in Springfield, Mass., according to word received here.
Sheriff and Mrs. Leslie E. Hoffman left for Springfield yesterday to attended the funeral. Mrs. Hoffman is a niece.
Mr. Richards was born in Wilmurt and came to Herkimer when a boy of nine, with his parents John C. and Henrietta Fischer Richards. He was a member of Co. M. of Mohawk and served in the Spanish War as Corporal.
