Sheriff and Mrs. Leslie E. Hoffman left for Springfield yesterday to attended the funeral. Mrs. Hoffman is a niece.
Mr. Richards was born in Wilmurt and came to Herkimer when a boy of nine, with his parents John C. and Henrietta Fischer Richards. He was a member of Co. M. of Mohawk and served in the Spanish War as Corporal.
