Services for Miss Monti M Burks, 80, Nashville, Tenn., and formerly of LaFayette, will be at 2 pm Saturday in the chapel of Henninger Funeral Home with Dr. Thomas Whitfield officiating. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery, LaFayette.
Visitation will be at 7:30 pm today.
Miss Burks died at 4 am today in Nashville.
A native of Christian County, she was born Jan. 20, 1895, the daughter of James Eugene and Martha Hester Burks. She had worked as a sales clerk for Harvey's Department Store, Nashville, until her retirement 10 years ago. She was a member of Central Church of Christ, Nashville.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Charles Horn, Elkton, and Miss Ethel Burks, this city; and one brother, Edmund Burks, LaFayette.
