Mrs. Florence E. "Granny Flo" Leighty, 93, of Vinita, Oklahoma departed this life on Monday, June 6, 2011 at the Miami Nursing Center in Miami, Oklahoma.

Florence began her earthly journey on March 29, 1918 in Bluejacket, Oklahoma one of eleven children born to the late James Thomas and Anna Myrtle (Marlin) Taylor. She was raised and graduated high school in Bluejacket. On March 26, 1940 she was united in marriage to Ivan "Dutch" Leighty and to this union one daughter was born. She and Dutch lived in Miami, Oklahoma until moving to Wichita, Kansas in 1951. In 1971 they moved to Southwest City, Missouri and later to Vinita, Oklahoma in 1977. Throughout her life she worked as a bookkeeper. She was of the Assembly of God faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ivan "Dutch" Leighty on April 24, 1978; four sisters; and six brothers.

Florence is survived by her daughter, Ivalou Womack and husband, Duwayne, of Southwest City, Missouri; two grandsons, Rich Womack and wife, Angel, of Clermont, Florida and Dan Womack of Olathe, Kansas; six great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Leighty are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the Bluejacket Cemetery in Bluejacket, Oklahoma with Bro. Don Diveley officiating.
