Alamo Defender. He immigrated to Texas and settled in Gonzales, where he married and made his living as a farmer. He joined the relief force from Gonzales, rode to the besieged Alamo and arrived on March 1, 1836. He died five days later in the battle of the Alamo on his thirty-second birthday. Floyd County, Texas is named in his honor.
