Mariana R. Caballero, wife of Cecilio Caballero, died at 11:30pm Monday after an illness of only 1 week. Her funeral was held Wednesday at 2:00pm from the family residence. The Rev. Yannes of St. Anne's Catholic Church officiated, and interment was made in Mountainview Cemetery.
Mrs. Caballero was born April 18, 1858, in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, and was 69 years of age. She came to Deming in 1882 and had resided here continuously ever since.
Besides her bereaved husband, she is survived by 5 daughters and 3 sons, all adults. Those surviving, to whom the sympathy of a wide circle of friends is extended, are: Diego Caballero of California, Mrs. Fred K. Reade, Mrs. J.H. Zumwalt, Mrs. Perry Lively, Fidel Caballero, Mrs. Marcos Montoya, and Miss Josefina Caballero of Deming, and Manuel Caballero of Dwyer.
