Bessie E. Sprowles, 87, of Hodgenville, died Saturday, Jan 23, 1999 at the Sunrise Care and Rehabilitation Center in Elizabethtown.
She was a member of the Hodgenville United Methodist Church, and a retired sales clerk for the Marcum's 5 & 10 Store in Hodgenville after 22 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James M. and Mary Ellen Dotson Bray, her husband, Bennie A. Sprowles, two sisters, Ida Bray Underwood and Nina Bray; four brothers, Thomas, Richared (Dick), Herlie, and Ned Bray, and a great-grandchild.
She is survived by [edited for privacy], 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Monday at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. Carlton Puryear officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery in LaRue County.
