Fordham-Barnes

Last Wednesday was a memorable day in the lives of two of this town’s most prominent young people. The day was ushered in by bright skies, soft sunlight and mellow, bracing atmosphere. It was a gladsome day for the happy young couple, for it was their marriage day.
Everything was auspicious and betokened the happiness of the two hearts which were bound together by the holy ties of marriage.
It was the marriage of Mr. C. C. Fordham to Miss Maggie Barnes at the residence of Mr. J. D. Barnes, brother of the bride at 8 o’clock. P.M. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Geo. F. Simmons, pastor of the M. E. church at this place. After the marriage, a reception was given to Mr. and Mrs. Fordham by Mr. J. D. Barnes, and many were the congratulations extended to the happy young couple for a long life of happiness.
Mr. Fordham is the popular and courteous salesman of Messrs. Harper & Hood, where he has held a position for the last two years, and his many friends will rejoice at the good fortune which was come upon him in his having won the woman of his choice. No better people ever lived in this community than the family from which Mrs. Fordham comes.
The Barnes’ have always been closely identified with every influence which has aided in t he social, moral and intellectual betterment or our little town, and they are as indispensable factor in the spiritual life of the Methodist church here.
There is nothing else in life that means so much to a woman as the choice of a husband, and Mrs. Fordham is to be congratulated upon the wisdom of her choice.
May happiness, peace and prosperity accompany these happy young people all along their journey through life, and in death, may they meet in the great hereafter. B.
