Charles E. Fishpool was born in Macomb county, March 24, 1852, and died at Gladwin, April 27, 1916, aged 64 years, 1 month, 3 days. He lived during his boyhood days in Macomb county, going to Evart in 1872, where he followed the vocation of millwright and engineering until 1886, when he came to Gladwin, and followed the same line of work until 1894, when he moved on his farm where he has since lived. He was a man honored and respected in the neighborhood where he lived for his honesty and integrity, always of a genial disposition, with a kind word for every one. He made friends wherever he waa, and in his death the community loses a valuable citizen. He was a kind and indulgent father and a loving husband; his home a place of pleasure, happiness and content whatever the conditions. Always looking on the bright side of life. He passed away contented and satisfied, feeling that all was well.

He leaves to mourn him a host of friends, his wife, Cora Fishpool, one daughter, Mrs. Kittie Sharp of Saginaw, 11 grandchildren, two sisters, Augusta Hall of Algonac, and Mrs. Irvin Chase of Evart. Among those from outside who were present at his funeral, which was largely attended, were Mr. and Mrs. A. Hall of Algonac, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Chase of Evart, his daughter, Mrs. Kittie Sharp, husband and their four children, two nieces, Mrs. Burt Smith and Mrs. Gilbert Finch of Saginaw, F. L. Sherry of Detroit and Egbert Scribner of Pinconning.

Funeral services were conducted from the home Sunday afternoon by Rev. J. H. Cornelius and the remains were laid to rest in Highland cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 5-4/1916 Column – 4 Page – 1.
