He is survived by six daughters; Bernice Clayton, Doris Parrish, Brenda Buckmon, Evelyn Brooks, Maryland Jones and Samantha Alexander; four sons; Wilbur A., Sylvester, Matthew and Wilford Brooks; 22 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; one sister, Catherine Fleming; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two daughters-in-law, Gayle and Delores Brooks; three sons-in-law, Jerome Clayton, Frank Buckmon, and Eric Alexander Sr.; one sister-in-law, Violet Spence; three brothers-in-law; Raymond, Floyd and Curtis Thaniel; and other relatives and friends.
Remains rested at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where funeral services were held Monday, April 16, 2012, at 1pm. Dr. Marshall Burgess officiated. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends assembled at the funeral home 12:45pm Monday, April 16, 2012.
