Karen was born in New Castle, Indiana in 1941. She was the daughter of C. T. and Doris Hogue. She attended grade school in Anderson, Ind. and high school in Tipton, Ind.
She graduated from Hanover College in 1963 where she was an education major and a member of Phi Mu sorority. She married Lynn Hossner in 1965 and moved to Ashton Idaho to begin her married life. She had a son, Todd and a daughter, Natalie.
Karen taught gifted students in Ashton, was a licensed auctioneer and also held a real estate license.
Karen was killed in a tragic auto accident in 1982 that claimed her life and the life of her niece, Heather Hossner. Karen is fondly remembered for her many talents, her intelligence, her outgoing personality and her great sense of fun.
