Verna Marrott Holt

Verna Marrott Holt, age 86, died of natural causes on Sunday, July 24, 2011. She was born in Orem, Utah on December 12, 1924, to Joseph Ascil Marrott and Martha Johannah Williams. Graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1943.
She married Roy Cook Holt on July 1, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were later divorced. They were the parents of five children: Kathryn Biesinger; Joie Ann (Duaine) McKenzie; Roy Kent (Sandy) Holt; Mary Jane (Ted) Allan; and Judy (Ron) Fryer.
Verna was a Girl's 4H Leader, worked in the Senior Companion Program visiting shut-ins, she served in the Relief Society, advisor in the Young Women's Organization, and a Primary Teacher.
She is survived by her 5 children, 18 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Melba Stewart, Vera Hundley, and Ronda (Lowell) Tomlinson. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Weldon, Joe, and Tom Marrott, a grandson Troy Tucker, and two great grandsons Austin Tucker and Jonathan Bone.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 29, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. in the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East in Orem. Friends and family may call Friday prior to the graveside from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem.
