Mrs. Stevens was a partner with her pastor husband for fifty-five years, serving with him at Pasadena Lake Avenue (Holliston), Pomona Trinity, Chaplain United States Army, Centenary in Los Angeles, Long Beach First, Fresno First, Santa Monica First (second time), Superintendent of the Long Beach District, Superintendent of the Pasadena-Arizona District, and Pasadena St. James.
After Dr. Stevens died in 1965, Mrs. Stevens moved to Redondo Beach near her daughter Adelaide.
She became an active member of the Redondo Beach First United Methodist Church, contributing to class discussions, offering devotional presentations and giving Christmas readings.
She attended church until the last year of her life, supporting it with her prayers and her gifts.
Mrs. Stevens was known for her cheerful smile and her spirit of praise and encouragement. As she left this life on earth, her parting words were: "I'll see you in the morning."
