She was born on Aug. 26, 1922, in Beloit, Wis., a daughter of the late
Henry A. and Julia Ellen Quirk.
Sister Catherine Ann professed her vows in the Congregation of St.
Agnes on Aug. 15, 1941. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in
Education from Marian College, a Master of Arts in English from
Fordham University, and a certificate in Braille from Hadley School for
the Blind in Winnetka, Ill.
She taught elementary and high school in Wisconsin, Indiana, New York, Illinois and Pennsylvania, and
did secretarial work at St. Mary's Springs High School.
Survivors include two brothers, John A. Quirk and Terrance (Frances) Quirk; nieces and nephews; and
the Congregation of St. Agnes, with whom she ministered.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Pearl Brewer, Mary Ellen Poole, Joann, Patricia, Sister Mona,
C.S.A., and Margaret Pringle; and two brothers, Jerome and Ned.
• Services: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the St.
Francis Home Chapel. The Rev. Edward Sippel will officiate. Burial will be at the St. Joseph's Springs
Cemetery.
• Visitation: From 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Nazareth Court in Fond du Lac. A prayer
service will be held at 10:30 a.m.
