On Saturday March 26th, 2011, Carroll (Judy) Moon Speed left her family's side and went to sit at the feet of Christ, hoping to be of help in Heaven's gardens.
"Judy" was born July 26, 1941 in Lynchburg, VA to the late Russell Scott and Effie Carmichael Moon. She spent her childhood with her dearest friend, Doris, running barefoot and playing in the woods near her home. Later she graduated college Magna Cum Laude and worked as a secretary. An avid reader, writer, gardener, and cook, she passed those gifts on to her children (Gillespie). She is mourned by her husband + soul-mate Paul, daughter Catherine, sons; Tony + Steven. Mother and Father in law: Don and Ruth, beloved brother in law Reavy, and Son in law Larry. Sisters in law: Vivian + Betty, Cindy + Martha. Daughters in law: Suzy, Tiffany and Lucy. Grandchildren: Stephanie, Billy, Christina, April, John, Laura, Mikayla, Spencer, and Lucas. Great-grandchildren: Brian, Skyler, Gavin, Hayden, Collin + Dylan. Nephews: Sean, Kyle, Danny Ray, Michael, Randy, Tommy, Ronnie, Dan, Eric, and dear Brian. Nieces: Sandy, Kelly, Linda, Cynthia, Deborah, Theresa, Rhonda, Corrine + Courtney. Carroll is the last of her family, waiting to meet her at the gates of heaven; standing beside her parents is her son, Jeff, Brothers Billy, Tommy, Ronald and Omer, along with her sister Shirley.A memorial service is planned for Saturday April 2, 2011 at Hunton Baptist Church, 11660 Greenwood Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059.
