She was born Jan. 9, 1908, in Hays, Kans. A graduate of Girls Catholic High School in Hays, she made her profession in the Congregation of St.Agnes in Fond du Lac on Aug. 15, 1930. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in Latin at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Sister Harriet Mary taught Latin at St. Mary's Springs High School from 1929 to 1944. She also taught Latin at high schools staffed by the Sisters of St.Agnes in Beloit, Wis., Kansas, Illinois, Pennsylvania and New York. From 1966 to 1969, she was director of admissions at Marian College. She was the librarian at St. Agnes Convent for 18 years until her retirement in 1987.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Alma Gassman; a niece, Elizabeth Alexander; and a nephew, Gary Gassman. all of San Antonio, Texas.
