James B. "Bo" Murry, Sr.

Slidell

James B. "Bo" Murry, Sr., 79, of Slidell, who died April 9, 2012 at St. Dominic's in Jackson. Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2012 at First Baptist Church in McLaurin followed by burial in the McLaurin Cemetery.

Mr. Murry was retired from Penrod Drilling Company and served in the Marines in Korea. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Richton, the American Legion, a past 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. He was an avid outdoorsman.

Mr. Murry was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Catherine Murry; one brother, Thomas Vhaly Murry; and two sisters: Evie Lee Behrens, and Valley Rea Jones.

He is survived by two sons, James B. (Blanca) Murry, Jr. of McAllen, Tex. and C. Ray (Lois) Murry of Slidell; a daughter, S. Ann (Ron) Prewitt of Jackson; four brothers, Dalton Murry of Hattiesburg, Carl (Shirley) Murry of Beaumont, Charlie (Sandra) Murry of Denham Springs, La. and Hulon (Mary) Murry of Brooklyn; two sisters, Corine Martin of Brooklyn and Lorine Matthews of Pascagoula; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg
