He was born Aug. 22, 1919, in Bazine, to Henry and Clara Schneider Timken.
On Aug. 10, 1942, he married Hazel L. Hogan in Champaign, Ill. They moved from Finney County to Hugoton in 1948. His wife preceded him in death as did his parents; a son, Verl Timken; and two brothers, Lloyd and Roy Timken.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Kay Johnson of Slidell, La., and Janice Elaine Turner of Lindsborg; a sister, Genevieve LaMunyon of Kennewick, Wash.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, Hugoton. Burial will be at Hugoton Cemetery.
Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church or the American Heart Association, both in care of the funeral home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
