The Galesburg Mail of Saturday tells of the death that evening of an old time resident of Warren county, one of its pioneers, Mrs. Nellie F. Ingersoll Forward. The death notice was as follows:

Mrs. Nellie F. Forward died at 6:20 this morning at the residence of her nephew, C. M. Davis, at 146 East Tompkins street, aged 77 years, 7 months and 28 days. Her death was due to causes brought on by a general decline and giving way to age. There were present at the time she died her sister, Mrs. Bell Davis, of Burlington, Colo.; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary T. Ingersoll of Alexis; her niece, Mrs. Bettie Kistler, of Topeka, Kans., and Mrs. Mary Adcock of Utah, Ill.; also her nephew, C. M. Davis and wife, with whom she has made her home for nearly a year. She has been quite low for about three weeks and has been partially unconscious and unable to speak for several days, therefore her death was not unexpected.

Nellie F Ingersoll was born at Lisle, Boone county, N. Y., June 13, 1827, the daughter of David and Ida (Landon) Ingersoll and came with her parents to Illinois in the fall of 1832, wintering the village of Chicago (as it was at that time) and they moved in the spring of 1833 to Warren county and settled where Utah now is, and in which locality she made her home until after she was married.

She was married to Joseph Forward, January 1, 1845, and resided on a farm in Warren county until the spring of 1856 when they moved to Viola, Ill., where her husband died in August, 1870. She made Viola her home the most of the time until about two years ago when she had to give up her home and move to Galesburg to be cared for by others. Her remains will be taken to Viola for burial. Funeral services will be held in the Presbyterian church of that place of which she was a member for many years, on Monday afternoon.

She was one of a large family of which only two survive, a sister, Mrs. Bell Davis, of Burlington, Colo., who was present at her death, and a half brother, Ira Ingersoll, of Shelby, Michigan.
