Mr., Mrs. Teddlie, Montgomery, Lose Lives In Accident

Two persons were killed and a third injured Tuesday at 4 p.m. of this week when two cars crashed together on U. S. Highway 71 about 16 miles south of Bunkie.

Dead are Thomas O. Teddlie, 54, and his wife, Jesse Melton Teddlie, 46, of Mongomery.

Hospitalized in Bunkie after the crash was Clarence J. Lovett. Officers could not immediately determine Lovett's address. It was thought that he resided in Hot Springs, Ark. and was employed in Minden. State police said he would be charged with negligent homicide.

Lost Control of Car

Investigating troopers said Lovett was driving south, apparently at a high rate of speed, when his car hit a road shoulder and went out of control. When he tried to pull it back onto the road, officers said it went into a spin and slammed rear end first into the Teddlie's northbound auto.

Both vehicles were described as total losses.

Mrs. Teddlie was killed in the crash. Her husband, who had been driving, died enroute to a hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Teddlie were held at 2 p.m. December 29, 1960, at the Hargis Baptist Church with Rev. John Radford officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

The couple is survived by two sons, James Gerald Teddlie, Pineville and Jesse Vernon Teddlie, Montgomery; three daughters, Mrs. James Chandler, Ruston, Mrs. Elmer Harper, Kenner, and Delores Sue Teddlie, Montgomery, and two grandchildren.

Mr. Teddlie, a school bus driver for Grant Parish, and the son of the late Mr. Jeff Teddlie, leaves his mother, Mrs. Bertha Teddlie, Pineville; and a sister, Mrs. W. L. McQueen.

Mrs. Teddlie is survived by her mother, Mrs. Ruth Bazar and her stepfather, J. P. Bazar of Montgomery; three brothers, J. W. Bazar, Pineville, Huey Bazar, Lone Star, Texas, and Isaac Bazar, Shreveport; six sisters, Mrs. Willie Preuett, Shreveport, Mrs. Thurmond Drewett, Pineville, Mrs. James R. Rogers,
Alexandria, Mrs. James Bryant, Ohio, Mrs. Roy Dick, Shreveport, and Mrs. George Fletcher, Houston, Texas.
