Roy Hartman Bragg is the son of John Thomas Bragg and Lillie (Hartman) Bragg. He was one of five children born to John and Lillie. The Bragg family resided in Montana before arriving in Washington state by 1910, where they lived in Tacoma, Pierce County.

John Thomas Bragg died in Tacoma, Washington on 13 Nov 1920. He was born in Shelby County, Missouri in April, 1863 to Samuel Bragg and Ann Eliza Stone. John Bragg married Lillie Hartman in 1887.

After John died, Lillie married Euegene C. Betteys, and they resided in Edmonds before moving to their permanent residence on Lombard street in Everett.

Roy Hartman Bragg enlisted as a Private in the 38th Spruce Sq. division on 25 June 1918. He was honorably discharged on 21 Jan 1919. Roy married Minnie Oake in King County, Washington on 06 June 1931. They resided in Everett.
