Mrs. Jerrie Lynn Fuqua Benderman, age 81, died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin.

Funeral service will be Saturday, January 12, 2019, 11:30 A.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Bro. John Forgy officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday beginning at 10:00 A.M. until service time.

Mrs. Benderman was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Benderman; parents, Joe F. Fuqua and Vera Huffman Fuqua; sister, Jo Ann Fuqua.

Mrs. Benderman taught high school and coached girl's basketball before retiring from owning and operating the Merle Norman Store in Martin and Union City. She was a 1955 graduate of Martin High School, attended UT Martin and graduated from Bethel University. She was a member of the Martin Church of Christ.

She is survived by two sisters, Bonnie Abercrombie and Mary Margaret Avery both of Memphis. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Paul Joseph Avery, Leigh Avery Hart, Stephanie Lynn Smith, Ok (Trey) Smith, III and Stacey Smith Nash.
